The Imperial Hotel Hong Kong sits right in the middle of the Tsim Sha Tsui action, around 150 Meters from the TST MTR Station. Some rooms do have views of the harbor, but it’s only specific ones that are high up facing a certain direction, the service and decor could be a lot better.
The harbor view is not the main talking point about this hotel, there’s other hotels around with much better views standing twice as tall. The biggest draw to this place is the location, competition for accommodation is fierce around the south end of Nathan Road, and the mighty Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel and Towers is only 50 Meters away.As far as quality goes, the rooms here are a mixed bag, it really all depends on what you will be doing in Hong Kong. If you will be spending a lot of time in the hotel, we would not really recommend the Imperial Hotel because the rooms are quite small and stuffy. On the other hand, if you plan to be out and about most of the day, you could stay here just fine.
We found the staff here to be quite abrupt with us and not so helpful with our questions about the local area, the answers weren’t to the point of it creating a problem, but we do think the staff could polish up on their manners and be more gracious towards guests.Another negative to this place are the hallways to the rooms, which could be a lot better-kept. We almost felt like getting some paint and sorting the halls out ourselves! The rooms do come with basic amenities, but the decor is dated and quite stale, for the price we have seen a lot better.
If you compare the quality of rooms, amenities and style to similar priced accommodation in the area, such as The Bauhinia Hotel, there is no competition. The Bauhinia is a little out of the way, but the value is much, much better, the modern design, amenities and clean rooms are great value. In closing, this three-star hotel (we’ve given it two) would not be as popular is it is if the location wasn’t so good, customers who are used to staying in the big places on the waterfront should steer clear. But if you’re on a budget simply looking for a place to sleep whilst you go out and explore, this could be a good place to stay. We have awarded a two star rating to this property, mainly because the location is great but there’s not much else to brag about here.
Usually you can find the best rates by using out ‘Book Now’ button, and you can also see a location map and check availability there.
